Born and raised in Southern California, Hayley moved to Utah at the end of her middle school years. In high school, her team won the 5A Volleyball State Championship, where Hayley was awarded Academic All-State and started as Middle Blocker. She graduated at the top of her class, and was awarded two scholarships to Brigham Young University, with one being a full-tuition academic scholarship. She graduated in three years with her Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science, and was accepted straight into the physical therapy program at the University of Utah. Hayley earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the age of 24 and was the youngest member of her graduating class, while receiving two additional scholarships. She then spent two years working in a clinic specializing in outpatient orthopedics and pelvic health, before finding her dream job working in an inpatient hospital serving the critically and chronically ill.
Since graduating, Hayley has dedicated over 300 hours per year to volunteer work, earning her the Presidential Service Award. She has been highly involved with various charitable organizations in the state of Utah, and is a passionate advocate for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Hayley is partnered with Spread the Word: Inclusion, as well as Special Olympics and Best Buddies, to provide inclusive experiences for people with special needs. She also works closely with Kids on the Move, Ronald McDonald House, and Mascot Miracles Foundation, and has been deeply impacted by the stories and influence of these children and their families. Hayley hopes to help create a more inclusive world for all people, regardless of their differing abilities, and is looking forward to taking her involvement to the national level this year as United States of America’s Miss.
In her free time, Hayley enjoys getting out in the Utah mountains to hike, snowshoe, paddleboard, and trail run. She also makes jewelry and creates vinyl designs, which she sells through her Etsy shop. Hayley continues to play volleyball in various city leagues, and also actively participates in kickboxing. Her best friend and secret keeper is her pet bunny, Dot. She considers herself a Harry Potter aficionado, and loves an adrenaline rush – she has been skydiving twice and hopes to one day go base jumping! Hayley is looking forward to her next big adventure as United States of America’s Miss 2021, and can’t wait to see what this year brings.
